Nephite Woman Monologue

Here is a script I wrote for Primary Sharing Time March 2014. I followed the script fairly well with a few deviations. The children seemed to enjoy the presentation and feel the Spirit. Grateful for any opportunities I have to share and develop my acting talents, especially when I am promoting the Gospel. :) Of course I dressed in costume. I forgot my sandals, so I went barefoot - almost barefoot, I was wearing nylons!

Primary Assignment 3 Nephi 11:1-17; 17

Hello, Boys and Girls and Brothers and Sisters. I am Sister Abikishla, a Nephite wife and mother.

One day in the year 34 A.D. in the land of Bountiful, I was standing outside the temple with my family and many other Nephites. While we were talking about Jesus, it came to pass that we heard a voice that sounded like it was coming from heaven. We couldn’t understand what the voice was saying. It was a soft voice, but so very powerful that it caused us to shake. We heard the voice a second time, but we still could not understand it. The third time that we heard the voice we unlocked our ears and looked up to heaven, and then we were able to understand the voice. It was the voice of Heavenly Father.

He said, “Behold my Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear ye Him.”

Then we saw a man in a white robe coming down from heaven.  We thought it was an angel, and looked at each other wondering what it meant. No one knew what to say.

Then he reached out his hand to us and said, “Behold, I am Jesus Christ!”

We all bowed down to Him. He invited us arise and to each come and touch the nail prints in His hands and feet so that we would know that He really was Jesus.

After everyone took a turn seeing Him and feeling the nail prints we shouted out, “Hosanna!” and knelt down to worship Him.

He taught us many marvelous things, told us he loved us, healed our sick people, and prayed for us.  Then he commanded that we bring our little children to Him. We brought our children and set them down on the ground around Him. He asked us to kneel down. Then He knelt and prayed to Heavenly Father such a magnificent prayer that words cannot describe it.

Jesus wept, then took our little children "one by one," one at a time, and blessed them and prayed unto Heavenly Father for them.

Then, as He wept again, He said, “Behold your little ones!”

We saw the heavens open and angels surrounded with fire come down from the sky. The angels circled around our little children and tended and comforted them.

How blessed I was to be one person out of about 2,500 men, women, and children who saw and heard these things. I testify that they are true. I heard Heavenly Father’s voice, I saw and heard Jesus Christ, and touched the nail prints in his hands and feet, and I saw the angels encircled with fire minister to the little children. (In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.)
